Yes!!! Please reach out to us if you want help coordinating carpools.
Carpooling presents a multitude of advantages, both for individuals and the environment. Financially, it offers significant savings by reducing fuel costs. By sharing the driving responsibilities and splitting the cost of gas, tolls, and parking fees, carpoolers can cut their transportation expenses in half or more, depending on the number of people sharing the ride. Additionally, carpooling can lead to reduced wear and tear on vehicles, as the mileage is spread across multiple drivers, potentially extending the lifespan of the car and delaying the need for costly repairs or replacements.Beyond the monetary benefits, carpooling contributes to a healthier planet. By reducing the number of cars on the road, it helps alleviate traffic congestion, leading to shorter commute times and less stress for drivers. Furthermore, fewer cars mean lower emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants, improving air quality and mitigating climate change. This positive environmental impact benefits not only the carpoolers themselves but also the broader community. Carpooling also offers social advantages. It provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share similar interests or commute routes. These social interactions can lead to new friendships, networking opportunities, and a sense of community. The shared commute time can be used for engaging conversations, collaborative work, or simply relaxing and enjoying the company of others. In conclusion, carpooling is a practical and sustainable choice that offers numerous benefits. It saves money, reduces environmental impact, and fosters social connections. By embracing carpooling, individuals can contribute to a healthier planet, a more efficient transportation system, and a more fulfilling social life.
Yes, all festivities for the weekend will take place at Loloma Lodge.
We're sad to say that there just isn't space for little ones at our venue.
Unfortunately, Butter is sitting this out, and your dog should too.
We're anticipating warm, sunny weather in late June. However, this is Oregon, so bring a raincoat just in case :)
A headlamp, sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, and anything else depending on what you want to do.
If you're staying on-site, plan to bring breakfast and lunch for Saturday. There is a general store and a couple of restaurants nearby. Bring snacks in case you often find yourself hungey mungey.
Much to the bride's dismay—no. There will be a meat option for dinner. If you have other food allergies, please note them in your RSVP.
The benefits of choosing a vegan lifestyle are numerous — and highly rewarding. Reducing or eliminating meat consumption has significant environmental impacts, as meat production is one of the largest contributors to climate change. Raising livestock requires vast resources, including land, water, and feed. Beef, in particular, has a high carbon footprint due to methane emissions from cattle, a potent greenhouse gas. Studies show that cutting back on meat, especially red meat, can greatly reduce an individual's carbon footprint. Meat production also drives deforestation and habitat destruction, as forests, including parts of the Amazon, are cleared for grazing or growing feed crops. This deforestation releases carbon stored in trees and leads to biodiversity loss as animals lose their natural habitats. Additionally, meat production demands huge amounts of water—far more than plant-based foods. Producing just one kilogram of beef requires thousands of gallons of water, while plant-based proteins like beans and lentils use significantly less. Reducing meat consumption helps conserve these vital water resources. As the global population grows, demand for sustainable food production becomes urgent. Shifting toward plant-based foods is a practical, effective way to reduce environmental impact and promote food security. By embracing a vegan or plant-focused diet, individuals can actively contribute to climate mitigation, ecosystem protection, water conservation, and more sustainable agricultural practices that benefit the planet as a whole.
